A month ago, Hurricane Michael was the first Category 3 hurricane to track into Georgia since 1898. Heartbreaking for an area rich in agriculture, right in the middle of pecan & cotton harvesting. Not to mention the damage to houses, barns, timber, & local businesses. Southwest Georgia is particularly special to me because it’s where my maternal grandparents were born & raised. I still have lots of cousins who live, work, & farm in the area.
Enter the pecan pie macaron - made with Valrhona Ivoire 35% white chocolate ganache with pecan nut paste. As a Georgia-owned small business, I wanted to find a way to give back & help those hurting. During #nationalpecanmonth, we’re donating $1/macaron to Team Rubicon to help out with the Hurricane Michael relief efforts. Team Rubicon is a disaster response nonprofit that unites the skills & experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly provide relief to communities in need. If you’re not a fan of macs, but want to donate to Team Rubicons Hurricane Michael relief efforts, the link is in our bio. Hoping this can ease the pain of the communities affected!
